There’s so much to see and learn at our different sites. We offer group tours for Grade 11, 12, University, College and Vocational School Groups.

Special Events

CNL partners with other organizations and schools to deliver educational programs to students all over Canada. We constantly expand our Education Outreach Program and seek opportunities to invest in STEM platforms. Explore some opportunities with us.

Science Fair Judging
Our experienced scientific community at CNL volunteer every year to help schools in Renfrew and Pontiac Counties judge their science fairs. If your school is interested in having a CNL judge at your science fair, submit your request here.
STEM Events
We partner with education and STEM organizations to provide a CNL booth, presenters and event sponsorships to promote STEM learning for different audiences. We also host special events for like our tree planting, safety workshops, bridge busting, and “Ask a Researcher” sessions for all ages.
Career Fairs
From pipe fitters and instrumentation specialists to nurses, technicians and researchers, our staff have experience in almost every trade, technical and non-technical field of STEM. We support career events and fairs with professionals who can share their field experience with your students.

Summer science camps

As part of our commitment to promote science learning, we facilitate summer science camps at our Chalk River Laboratories for kids ages 9 -12. In the summer, kids get to explore the wealth of opportunities available through the different fields of science.

Registration for the camp is facilitated through our partner communities in Pembroke, Petawawa and Deep River, while the content of the program is provided through CNL teams and our community partners like Let’s Talk Science Ottawa, and The Society for the Preservation of Canada’s Nuclear Heritage who provide fun activities and experiments for the students every week of camps.

Merit Badge Program

Are you a Scouts or Guides coordinator in search of engaging, hands-on STEM presentations for your local group or chapter? Our program offers a variety of science presentations and activities, each designed to connect with the students and encourage their exploration of science.

We also we offer a Nuclear Science overview module that awards participants a Nuclear Science Merit Badge upon completion. We offer these modules to all levels of Scout and Guides, from sparks to rangers and beavers to rovers.
