The following information bulletin is in accordance with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) ongoing commitment to voluntary public disclosure of events related to the Chalk River Laboratories (CRL).
Chalk River, ON – January 31, 2024 – An internal review of CNL’s training management system has identified that Radiation Protection (RP) training may have lapsed for some employees.
Since discovering the issue, CNL has initiated a review to identify how many employees require training updates and has put in place work restrictions as needed. A corrective action plan is underway to quickly rectify any gaps in personnel training and to ensure full compliance.
There is no impact to members of the public or the environment, and conditions on site remain normal. The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission has been notified about the event.
