We are building strong relationships by actively engaging with our local communities through our Education and Community Outreach programs. These initiatives are designed to provide free accessible resources and raise awareness of our projects at CNL and the nuclear industry in Canada.
Through education outreach, we inspire youth all around Canada to explore STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer and Mathematics) by making these resources fun and engaging. We offer dynamic, hands-on activities, site tours and classroom visits for all ages. Our goal is to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of leaders in STEM.
Our commitment extends to community outreach, where we support initiatives and events that help our communities thrive through sponsorship and participation.
Our ongoing efforts to support our communities ensure that we are not only investing in the education of youth but also continually contributing to the local economy.

CNL’s Public Information Program is intended to cover public activities that occur at CNL. It has been prepared in accordance with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) Regulatory Document RD/GD-3.2.1: Public Information and Disclosure published in 2018.
As a corporation, CNL makes it a priority to build public awareness, understanding, and a supportive appreciation of CNL’s value and relevance to Canadians. CNL works to ensure that the general public, surrounding communities, news media, supply chain and other stakeholders such as industry and academia are informed about the ongoing activities at all CNL sites (Chalk River Laboratories, Whiteshell Laboratories and Prototype Reactor Sites).
