CNL has received approval from Canada’s nuclear regulator, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), to proceed with the construction of the Near Surface Disposal Facility (NSDF) at Chalk River Laboratories. This development signifies an important step forward toward fulfilling the Government of Canada’s mandate to address low-level radioactive waste in Canada. The NSDF is also a key component in enabling the ongoing cleanup and renewal of the Chalk River Laboratories, Canada’s national nuclear science and technology campus.
