CNL is transitioning to Automated Security Clearance Forms to support the security screening process

Automated Security Clearance Forms

The transitioning to Automated Security Forms previously scheduled for the end January 2021, was delayed due to technical issues and the need for additional requirements; the current effective date is 2021 March 17.

CNL/AECL appreciate your understanding and you cooperation to ensure a successful implementation of this delicate process.

AECL/CNL is pleased to inform you, Personnel Security, Intelligence & Investigations will be transitioning to Automated Security Clearance Forms to support the security screening process. The implementation is targeted for the end of January 2021.

An automated solution will streamline our current process, reduce delays in your security screening request and provide an efficient security clearance process. The submission of your personal information will be secure and shared only with the CNL Personnel Security Officer.

Contractor Company’s Single Point of Contacts (SPOCs) will continue to liaise with the CNL Contractor Representative (CCR) and/or your dedicated Personnel Security Officer (PSO) as per our  current process. When we implement the change to automated forms, your security screening request will require the inclusion of the candidate’s name, their email address, and job title.

The candidate will receive an email from the dedicated PSO which includes the supporting documentation checklist and instructions for completing the automated security clearance form. The SPOC and CNL Sponsor will be included on this email.

The PSO will then initiate the security screening process through the secure portal. This will generate 2 emails to the candidate’s personal email address; a Welcome Email and a Portal Password email. The candidate is accountable for monitoring their email and for completing the security clearance forms, attaching their supporting documentation and submitting the information via the portal.

We understand there may be circumstances where the candidate does not have an email account. If this is the circumstance the SPOC needs to advise the PSO so an alternate method
can be initiated.

We look forward to the implementation of our Automated Security Clearance forms!
