CNL Branding Guidelines

The logo

Our logo is an essential piece of our visual identity. It must be represented consistently to create powerful brand recognition. The Masterbrand logo is available in a preferred (horizontal) configuration and a restricted-use (stacked) configuration. You should never attempt to re-create our logo. Instead, use only approved logo artwork. Should you have any questions about the usage of Canadian Nuclear Laboratories logo, wordmark or branding, please contact communications@cnl.ca.

Brand colours

Colour is an impactful element that reinforces our brand identity and allows us to stand out in the market. The use of our colour palettes maintains recognition of our brand colours, but provides dimension and flexibility within our design system. The colour specifications must be followed consistently to maintain the integrity of our visual brand identity. Do not introduce additional colours outside of the approved colours found in the colour guidelines document linked below.

Do not change the artwork.

  • The artwork includes the text. It is not the “flash” icon plus the words. The artwork includes all of these elements.
  • There is no approved unilingual option. Bilingual version is used at all times.
  • There is no approved “acronym” version (e.g., CNL-LNC).
  • Do not separate the “flash” icon from the text without checking with us first.
  • Do not skew it. The files may be scaled as appropriate. Stacked and horizontal layouts are available as needed.
  • Do not add words to it.
  • Ensure a clear delineation between the artwork and any accompanying images or text.

Do not change the colours.

  • Preference is for the full colour version when possible.
  • Use the white version on dark colours, other than black or grey.
  • Use the black version on light colours, other than white or grey.
