This year, CNL is hosting Career Days, to promote the work we do at CNL and inspire the next generation of young people work in STEM.

For our career days, Grade 11 & 12 students in Renfrew County and Pontiac will have the opportunity to visit Canada’s national nuclear laboratory, tour our exciting facilities, and learn all about the exciting career paths available to students interested in the skilled trades, engineering and science.

There will be two tours to cover the two major streams of careers at CNL.

Tour #1: Trades and Apprenticeships

When: Tuesday, March 26, 2024
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Chalk River Laboratories, 286 Plant Road, Chalk River, Ontario
About: Learn from the talented skilled trades team at the Chalk River campus, and explore opportunities in a range of disciplines. 

Tour #2: Science and Engineering

When: Thursday, March 28, 2024
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Chalk River Laboratories, 286 Plant Road, Chalk River, Ontario
About: CNL delivers innovative research which is helping clean the environment, power our future through clean energy, and advances health science in the fight against cancer. Come visit our exciting laboratories and see what career opportunities exist in nuclear science and engineering.

Important Details:

  • Space is limited to 40 students. Do not delay in registering your interest with the contacts below to secure your spot.
  • Registration must be completed by March 11, 2024. Email your local school board contact (below) to register.
  • Students must find their own transportation to the Chalk River Laboratories: Minwamon Building – 286 Plant Road, Chalk River, Ontario
  • Students must bring at least one piece of Government issued ID for security.
  • Don’t be late! Students that miss the bus to the main campus at 9:00 a.m. will not be guaranteed access to site that day.
  • Lunch will be provided.
    • Students must make organizers aware if they have any dietary restrictions in advance.
