CNL student initiatives have immediate and long term benefits for our company, for the nuclear industry and for Canada’s science and technology community as it helps support, develop and inspire highly qualified people. As a student you'll get hands-on experience, which helps you make decisions on future career options.

CNL offers positions related to your academic program as well as summer student positions. All of CNL’s student positions offer valuable work experience.

  • Postdoctoral Fellowship positions – provides temporary academic opportunities for researchers who have completed his/her doctoral studies within the last 24 months.
  • Co-op positions – positions are temporary, four, eight, 12 or 16 month opportunities for students which provide training and experience directly related to student’s academic program or skills training at the college or university. Considerations for these positions are only given to students who are currently enrolled in a recognized co-op program as part of their studies at university or college.
  • Summer positions – positions are temporary, four month opportunities which provide training and experience directly related to student’s academic program or skills training at the college or university. Considerations for these positions are only given to students who are currently enrolled in a recognized college or university program and who plan to return to school in the fall. 
  • High School Co-op positions – positions aimed at giving local high school students work experience in various disciplines in an effort to help them select a career. Student must be actively participating in a recognized co-op program as part of their studies at high school.

In order to be considered for Co-op and summer student positions, student must register on-line. For high school Co-op positions, students should work with their High School Co-op coordinators.

CNL’s Code of Conduct emphasizes that CNL employees must not hire, supervise or exert influence in the recruitment of a student with whom there is a personal relationship. Any family relationship at CNL must be clearly stated by the student completing a work term with CNL. Relationship by family will not preclude hiring as long as the student meets the appropriate job-related standard and the family member is not immediately responsible for or oversees the student assignment.
