Reminders & Advice

We want you to have a great day at the Laboratories. Below are a few suggestions and reminders which will help!

Event Logistics:
  • The Open House will run "rain or shine." In the event of bad weather, we may need to change or curtail some aspects, but many of the planned activities are indoors, or under tented spaces.  Bring a raincoat or umbrella, and get out there!
  • For safety reasons, we strongly encourage closed-toe footwear. It protects your feet, you are less likely to trip, and provides better support while walking our expansive site.  If you are participating in the NRU or NPD tours, you are required to wear long pants and closed-toe footwear.
  • Help us keep the site safe and secure, and please limit photography to the areas outside of the built up laboratory complex.  Signage will be in place to remind you.
  • Our peak traffic arrives between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m;  consider an earlier or later arrival to avoid some of the crowds. The event opens at 10:00 and closes at 3:00.
  • Food vendors will be available on site, or, you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch. Be aware that the picnic baskets / coolers will be subject to search on arrival. We will have picnic tables and tented areas.
  • The scheduled presentations can fill up quickly, so be sure to arrive early to get a space.
